Style Origins: Norman Noriega

Norman Noriega's collection comprised of pieces in monochromatic hues. Draped shawls combined with flowing oversized tops with shredded details create unconventional silhouettes that are sure to make heads turn. Personally, I love his pants; black, flowy and the fit is just right. Well, I didn't fit them but looking at the models, the pants look great. And the thing about a monochromatic collection is that the pieces are versatile and would go on almost anything; as long as you have the personal style and confidence to pull it off. 

Another thing that really got me were the OS Accessories! They were the perfect accompaniment to an amazing collection. The bone pieces totally upped up the ante! I've seen several OS accessories that are currently but there are some that I've seen for the first time; like a shark teeth necklace which was just fucking awesome. 

Norman Noriega,  I have nothing but praises for you.

Style Origins: Brands

 

As I said in my last blog post, I watched the Men's Wear Collection in Ayala's Style Origins at Trinoma a few days ago. Brands such as Florsheim, Van Heusen, Swatch, Izod, Debenhams, Topman, Sperry, Mundo , Maldita Man, and Celio with Pedro shoes featured their new season collections in a fashion show that combined downtown dressing with stylish pieces that are appropriate for the Manila weather. I loved Topman's collection and Mundo's collection because my personal style leans to their aesthetic and design concept more. A mix of preppy and casual with a dash of color. Something I would definitely wear!

Oh. And one more thing. Aside from Enchong Dee, rising star Joseph Marco also walked the ramp in a blazer that is just beyond! I wish I knew who designed it though. Props to him or her!

Second day in the province and I badly wanna go home. HAHA Kidding. Thank god we're staying at this hotel-slash-restaurant that's livable. Yep, livable. Not entirely luxurious but I can totally live with that. And besides, we're the only ones checked in. So yeah, woot woot!

On that day, (if I remember it well. haha) we attended the annual procession around town. It's quite tiring and stressful, ugh. But nevertheless, I enjoyed mingling with the people from the province. They seem to be really interested on the things I'm wearing. Which is weird for me, honestly speaking.

I wore this blue solid colored polo over a tribal shirt to balance it out. Makes each other stand out. And since my wardrobe is limited, I have to use these pants and boots all over again. Oh well. But why red and blue? Because I love red and blue! Blue, especially.

The good thing about being in the province is you will never run out of places to take good photos. I mean, these photos were taken just behind the church! Crazy, I know! Almost looks like a forest. LOL

But then again, I was in the province. There are more trees than houses. Just sayin'.

For the past month, April, obviously, I've been very busy! I went to the province, did several shoots (which I'll be posting soon enough) and went to so many places! April has been an amazing month for me and hopefully May will be! So apologies for the month-long hiatus.

On the second week of April, we went to the province to celebrate the Holy Week. And when I say province, I mean proooovince! It's a 7-hour drive away from Manila my love. Lots of fields, nipa huts and carabaos. LOL. But I think the fresh air did a lot of good stuff for me. Made me feel cleaner. Even if it's only on the inside. CHOS. 

Day 1. This is what I wore. It was pretty hot that day and jeans were definitely not an option. The straw hat was a summer staple, obviously. But it was also there to cover my disastrous hair. HAHA 

There are so many fields where my parents come from so we just HAD to shoot there. And it's amazing having an audience of chickens and cows watching while you pose in the middle of a rice field. Yihee! Insane, I know!

The last shot we took in an abandoned school. Really cool place to shoot in the morning, really scary place at night. HAHAHA

Had an amazing, random night last 17th of March! Watched the Mode Fashion Show then headed to Silver City to the Avant Garde party with Ronn, Mikhail and my brother. We also supported Nicole, Renz, and the others for Fashion Wars. They had an awesome entry but didn't win, sadly. Afterwards, went to Greenbelt to meet with the girls, Nina and Ashley! Went to Il Ponticello then The Distillery at Makati. Got a bit tipsy pero nothing bad. HAHA. Crazy, crazy night!

Didn't have the time to color coordinate so what's on is on. Wore this vivid blue polo from the father's closet. God, I love that place! HAHAHA And this brown pair of pants went well with the color. Wore boots to give it the extra oomph. And of course, the arm candies. The jacket here is one of my fave's from 5CM, a gift from the mother. 

It's amazing how crazy one night could be!
